Chicago Railroad History Month Giclee - Limited Edition of 200 signed by the artist
Giclee of an original painting by Mitch Markovitz, artist and illustrator, features scenes and icons from Chicago's 170-plus years of railroad history. Proceeds will be used to promote October as Chicago Railroad History Month.
Giclee is French for "Little squirt." The system was perfected by Graham Nash. The system includes professional photography of the original work of art with the image refined for printing. The printer used is a large ink jet printer using 8 colors of pigmented ink in order to perfectly match the colors of the original work of art. The editions are run by hand, to order. There's no stack of prints sitting around. Pigmented inks being like paint are guaranteed to last 200 years. The editions are run on archival paper or canvas as specified. Each edition is numbered and signed, with each original purchaser's name recorded. Editions on canvas may be stretched and mounted on stretchers per request and at an additional cost. Giclees are available in three different sizes, on either canvas or matte paper, in prices from $80-$250.
