Museums

Blackhawk works with local historical societies and museums, sponsoring, creating and displaying railroad-themed exhibits, giving the public a historically ​accurate view of our railroad history.

​Depots

Blackhawk has been involved with numerous communities throughout Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, assisting with their depot ​restoration projects. 

​Community

​Blackhawk has worked with the community, encouraging and promoting public awareness of railroads and the importance of our railroad history.​

​Publications and Documents

In addition to our own Spike & Tie and the items available in our Store, Blackhawk works with authors, publishers and the local press, providing historic documents and photos from our archives.

Restoring ​Equipment

Blackhawk and our members are involved with projects restoring individual pieces of ​historic railroad equipment.

​Chicago Railroad History Month

Blackhawk participated in an effort to celebrate to 175th anniversary of the railroad coming to Chicago in 2023.
