Preserving Our Railroad History
Chicago Railroad History Month
Blackhawk is leading the effort to celebrate to 175th anniversary of the railroad coming to Chicago in 2023 by creating a year-long celebration of public events and exhibitions that will commemorate that history and the future of railroading in Chicago.
In addition to our own Spike & Tie and the items available in our Store,
Blackhawk works with authors, publishers and the local press,
providing historic documents
and photos from our archives.
Blackhawk is in the community, encouraging and promoting public awareness of railroads and the importance of our railroad history.
Blackhawk works with local
historical societies and museums,
sponsoring, creating and displaying
giving the public a historically
accurate view of our railroad history.
Blackhawk has been involved with numerous communities throughout Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana,
assisting with their depot
Blackhawk and individual members
